About this field

Digital twins are virtual replicas of physical systems used for simulation, testing and optimisation before — or alongside — real production. They allow engineers to test control logic, validate throughput and predict failures without stopping a production line. This programme covers simulation tools, PLC virtual commissioning, 3D plant modelling and data synchronisation between the digital twin and the real asset.

Career pathways

Roles you'll be ready for

Digital Twin TechnicianBuilds and maintains virtual models of production systems, synchronises data and runs simulation scenarios.
Virtual Commissioning EngineerTests PLC programs in a simulated environment before deploying to real machines, reducing on-site commissioning time.
Simulation AnalystRuns throughput simulations, identifies bottlenecks and recommends layout or parameter changes using the digital twin.
3D Visualisation SpecialistCreates animated 3D models of factory lines for training, presentations and remote monitoring.

Hands-on projects

Real builds, not slideware

PRJ-01
Virtual Conveyor System

Build a Factory I/O simulation of a conveyor sorting system, program the PLC logic virtually and validate before deploying to hardware.

PRJ-02
Bottleneck Analysis

Create a simulation model of a packaging line, run throughput tests under different configurations and identify the bottleneck.

PRJ-03
Digital Twin Dashboard

Connect a simulated PLC to a web dashboard that displays live simulated production data — count, cycle time and rejects.

After Veritas · study abroad

A springboard to a Master's degree in Europe

For a lot of people, Veritas is just step one. The hands-on, globally-recognised experience makes your profile stronger if you want to study abroad later — and these happen to be the exact skills European employers are short on.
